VoiBo did not start as a technology project. It started as two problems our own team needed to solve.
For years, inside our own agency, we kept running into the same problem. We were winning strong applications, but we could not act on them quickly enough.
However hard the team worked, the timing rarely fell our way. By the time a consultant was free to review an application and make the call, the strongest candidates had often already spoken to a competitor, or had simply cooled off. A slow first response quietly destroyed the value of applications we had worked hard to win. It was a constant, grinding source of frustration.
The answer was not a tidier process, and it was not more applications. We already had enough good ones. The problem was that we could not capitalise on them. What the team really needed was a superhuman response rate. Something that could reach every applicant within seconds, reassure them they had been seen, lock in their interest, and keep them moving through the process while their motivation was still high.
There was a second problem. Some of the most valuable work in recruitment is also the most repetitive: working through a large database of good people to find the few who are right, and available, now. It is high in volume, low in immediate reward, and genuinely soul destroying to do at scale. Emails and texts rarely cut through any more, so it had to be calls. But calling at that scale was too labour intensive and too costly to make commercial sense, and it was the part of the job our recruiters dreaded most. We had a database full of strong candidates, yet the effort needed to reach them made it hard to justify the time.
VoiBo was built to solve both problems. The Applicant Responder gives an agency that superhuman response rate. The Resourcer works a database far more efficiently and effectively than a person realistically can, surfacing warm, qualified candidates without putting a consultant through the worst of the grind.
We built it for our own team first. It worked. So we built it properly, and made it available to every agency that faces these challenges, and the many others that come with running a recruitment desk.

The founder
Simon Berry
Simon founded and ran a successful recruitment business for 17 years, and has since advised a number of other agencies on growth, operations, and talent strategy. That experience covers the full range of agency challenges, from building high performing consultant teams to navigating the commercial pressures that define the sector.
It gave him a clear, first hand view of where agency time is lost, and where the right technology can give it back. VoiBo is the direct result of that view.
